Exploring Louisiana Agriculture is a children's book published by the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation, taking children on an adventure with two brown pelicans to learn more about Louisiana agriculture. The two pelicans, Louis and Ana, are two original characters created by the Louisiana Farm Bureau's Ag in the Classroom committee. I brought these two characters to life within the book, added some good old barn yard flare and bright colors to the concept. I've also used original photography taken by myself and my good friend, Sally Ramagos, and incorporated a few stock images in the book.
Taking the committee's ideas and working together with my fellow staff members, we were able to assemble this book in time for the 2016 Louisiana Farm Bureau Ag in the Classroom Ag Literacy project. This projects promotes community involvement, by giving a chance for volunteers to read this book in their community.
